EHS Teacher

Location: Hope Head Start Center / Holland Daycare – EHS Bunny Room

Description: Provides educational instruction and care in 2-year-old room

Qualifications: A high school diploma or General Education Development (GED) equivalent is required along with at least one of the following:

  • A Child Development Associate credential (CDA) and training or equivalent coursework in early childhood development with a focus on infant/toddler development, including completion of a 3 credit hour infant/toddler class or 4.5 CEUs in infant/toddler development and care practices
  • An associate degree in early childhood education, including completion of a 3 credit hour infant/toddler class or 4.5 CEUs (Continued Education Unit) in infant/toddler development and care practices within 6 months of hire
  • A bachelor’s or advanced degree with coursework equivalent to a major relating to early childhood education, including completion of a 3 credit hour infant/toddler class or 4.5 CEUs in infant/toddler development and care practices within 6 months of hire is preferred

Schedule: 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday, year round

Preschool Teacher

Location: Hope Head Start Center / Holland Daycare – Kangaroo Preschool Room

Description: Implements developmentally appropriate classroom activities that support the growth and development of each child while meeting curriculum requirements, Head Start Program Performance Standards, and State of Michigan Licensing Rules

Qualifications: A bachelor’s or advanced degree with one of the following is required:

  • Early childhood education major
  • Coursework equivalent to a major relating to early childhood education, with experience teaching preschool-age children
  • Teaching certificate and a ZA or ZS endorsement

A college course in the administration of early childhood centers is required.

Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday, year round
